Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit manuscripts to the Asian Journal of Educational Leadership, Management and Pedagogy (AJELMP). All submissions are initially assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of the journal and satisfy minimum scholarly and technical standards. Submissions considered to be a good fit will proceed to peer review prior to an editorial decision.

Peer Review Model

AJELMP uses a double-blind peer review process for peer-reviewed sections. Manuscripts that pass initial editorial screening are typically evaluated by two independent reviewers. Editorial decisions may include accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject. Where necessary, the Editor may request additional review, statistical/methodological assessment, or further editorial evaluation.
Note: Non-research content (e.g., editorials) may be handled through editor review only, depending on the section policy.

Permissions, Authorship, and Submission Responsibility

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as figures, photos, instruments, questionnaires, documents, extensive tables, and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to authorship and submission, and authorship must reflect substantial scholarly contribution.

Ethics and Consent

Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study’s country. Studies involving human participants, student data, sensitive personal data, or identifiable information should clearly state the ethics approval body (and approval/reference number where available) and summarize informed consent/assent procedures, including confidentiality and data protection safeguards.

Manuscript Quality and Desk Rejection

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality, relevance, clarity, or methodological transparency. Before submitting, ensure that the research problem, theoretical grounding, and argumentation are coherent and that the design and analysis are appropriate. Titles should be concise; abstracts should be able to stand on their own, reflecting the study’s purpose, method, key findings, and implications for educational leadership, management, or pedagogy.

Originality and Similarity Screening

All submissions may undergo originality checks (including similarity screening) as part of the editorial assessment. Manuscripts with unacceptable text overlap, inadequate attribution, duplicate publication, or evidence of unethical publication practices may be desk rejected or returned for correction prior to peer review.

Use of AI Tools (Disclosure Required)

Authors may use AI-assisted tools for language editing or formatting support, provided that authors retain full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the work. Any AI use that materially affects the manuscript (e.g., drafting substantial text, generating analyses, or producing figures/tables) must be disclosed in the manuscript (e.g., in an acknowledgments or methods note). AI tools must not be listed as authors.

Formatting and Referencing

AJELMP recommends APA 7th edition referencing and in-text citation style. Authors should ensure that references are complete and accurate and that tables/figures are numbered, titled, and cited in the text. For double-blind review, the main manuscript should be anonymized (remove author names, affiliations, and identifying self-references where feasible) and any author-identifying information should be placed in a separate title page file if required by the workflow.

When you are satisfied that your submission meets these standards, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Publication Fees

The Asian Journal of Educational Leadership, Management and Pedagogy (AJELMP) is an open-access journal. To sustain editorial operations, DOI registration, and web hosting, a modest Article Processing Charge (APC) is applied only after acceptance. Payment instructions will be included in the acceptance letter.
