Advancing Educational Leadership, Management, and Pedagogy Across Systems, Institutions, and Learning Contexts

Abstract

This editorial introduces the inaugural issue of the Asian Journal of Educational Leadership, Management and Pedagogy and situates its twelve articles within the interconnected domains of educational policy, institutional leadership, curriculum alignment, pedagogy, technological innovation, professional preparation, and organizational management. The issue presents studies on public education spending and primary-level exclusion in ASEAN, curriculum misalignment in the Philippine educational qualification system, grit and artificial intelligence literacy, AI-assisted gamified learning, medical and nursing education, professional licensure preparation, clinical internship performance, faculty job satisfaction, and the pedagogical significance of cultural heritage. Collectively, the articles demonstrate that educational quality depends on the coherence of policies, curricula, institutional systems, teaching practices, assessment mechanisms, technological safeguards, and professional learning environments. Particular attention is given to the conditional acceptance of artificial intelligence in education, the alignment of academic preparation with employment and licensure requirements, and the role of organizational climate in sustaining faculty performance. The issue also recognizes cultural heritage as an important source of pedagogical knowledge and identity. As the journal’s first publication, Volume 1, Number 1 establishes AJELMP as a multidisciplinary scholarly platform for research that is analytically rigorous, contextually grounded, and relevant to educational leadership, management, and pedagogical practice across Asian and international settings.
